America turns 250 years old on July 4th, 2026!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!! The 250th anniversary events of the American Revolution are upon us. The war began on April 19th, 1775, at Lexington and Concord where Patriots stood in defense of their rights against an oppressive government. The year that followed was filled with events that changed the course of American history. America declared its independence on July 4th, 1776 but was soon confronted by the largest attack force the British had ever assembled in its history to that point. Several battles would occur in New York City and along the Hudson River Valley from August to December. The year 2026 will see a multitude of celebrations of these events in New York City and both Westchester and Putnam Counties.
In this exciting presentation, Rob Buccheri (a local teacher) will describe the American Revolution in New York City and the Hudson Valley and the 250th anniversary events that will be celebrated in local communities.
